About Me

My name is Kathleen Pitt MAR RN Cert Ed. I am the Principal of The Academy School of Reflexology and Holistic Therapies Northampton, and also the main tutor. The other tutor on the courses is Joan Innes. more about Joan

I became interested in reflexology when I attended a one day workshop. I was fascinated that by using a specialised massage on the feet one could learn a lot about that persons health. I decided to train as a reflexologist and went to Aylesbury to gain my Association of Reflexologists qualification. I then set up in practice as a reflexologist in Northampton. Unfortunately I had a car accident which injured my back and brought an abrupt end to my practice. I did not want to give up reflexology as it had become my passion so I decided that if I could not practice I could still teach it.

I took a teaching diploma and approached the AoR as to what would be best so that the students would have an excellent qualification at the end. After meeting all the requirements from AoR and ITEC for accreditation, I then set up my School of Reflexology Training in Northampton. Since starting I have trained 150 students with a 98% pass rate in reflexology and 100% pass rate in Massage.

I am a:
  • Qualified Registered Nurse of 33 years (retired)
  • Qualified Reflexologist for 22 years
  • Qualified teacher of 17 years
  • Qualified First Aider being a member of St John Ambulance for 33 years (retired)
  • And holds a D32/33 training and assessors award
  • Qualified in Holistic Massage 16 years ago
